It all started at 13 February 2009 at LEGO® World Denmark in Parken. Here I found some original photos from this event. One of biggest LEGO® events LEGO® World has been held every year since then. Every year there is unique figure given to participants, all consists of same, unique torso and random parts added.
LEGO® World is an annual event organized by the toy manufacturer LEGO® in Copenhagen and Utrecht in the Netherlands . The event is primarily aimed at children with the opportunity to build and play with LEGO® Bricks , just as there are various types of activities and entertainment. In addition, adult LEGO® builders showcase their models, which can be both detailed and comprehensive. In Copenhagen, the association Byggepladen is responsible for this part of the event.
LEGO® World was developed by Roy Cordes from LEGO® Nederland and Renate Ouweneel from IJsselhallen in Zwolle , where the first LEGO® World was held in 2001 with 27,500 visitors. In 2011, the number had grown to 73,853 visitors over eight days from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. In 2013, the event was moved to the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Here it is still visited by more than 70,000 people every year. The target group is primarily children aged from 4 to 14 years.
The first Danish LEGO® World was held in 2009 in the Parken (formerly Copenhagen’s Sports Park) in Copenhagen, but since 2010 it has been held in the Bella Center in the same city. The event takes place the last four days of the winter holidays.1
As website informs 2020 event was postponed to 2021 because of papndemy.
