Crème de la crème of LEGO® Instagrammers

While Facebook is the most popular social network Instagram has way more to offer for LEGO® fans. I think it might be due to its focus on photography.

In this short article I will describe some crème de la crème of LEGO® Instagrammers. All of those are my favourite accounts – for sure must follow for any LEGO enthusiasts!

@lego_sw15 – I think the best and most complete LEGO® Star Wars Minifigures collection in The Galaxy! With 1267 photos and close to 50k followers for sure it is the best place for Minifigures from one of most popular LEGO® themes.

@lego_sw15 is running a second account – @lswminis listing all SW Minifigures photos in chronological order – good place to check your collection completeness.

@lego_sw15 was so kind that he shared with me some insights about his passion:

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
My Lego obsession started in 2000 when I was 4. My mother is a huge Star Wars fan so she purchased all the current Star Wars sets at the time and I was locked in forever.
  2. Your favorite Minifigure?
I really can’t choose a favorite, but the 2017 ROTJ Boba Fett would be up there. Along with Rebels Ahsoka and solo Lando Calrissian.
  3. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
For anyone determined to complete a collection, just stick keep to it and don’t give up. Since I was so young when the LSW line started, I missed out on a fair amount of sets. It took me some years to acquire all the sets/ Minifigures I didn’t have the opportunity to get in store. I kept to it and didn’t let anything stop me from getting it.

Next – just simply great @warlord_lego – who posted so far 2798 photos gathering one of biggest communities of followers – 144k people. It is a must have for someone who is into LEGO®. @warlord_lego is running another account – @legoquickreview and @legoquickreview_micro – both simply awesome!

Author was busy with new video for his YouTube channel but was kind enough to answer shortly my questions:

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
    From 4 years old.
  2. Your favorite Minifigure?
    Samukai.
  3. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
No advice. Just to enjoy 🙂

There was @lego_sw15 with his Star Wars™ Minifigures collection – second extremely popular theme are Super Heroes™ –  and fans of this category must check @minisuperheroestoday account – over 2k of awesome photos and 66k followers – such a great account!

@minisuperheroestoday also replied to questions asked:

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
I’ve been collecting LEGO for the better part of my entire life, which is 24 years. I’ve loved it since I was a kid, and while I don’t “play” with LEGO anymore, I do live building and displaying sets!
  2. Your favorite Minifigure?
The Phoenix Customs Endgame Captain America.
  3. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
Buy what you like, not what’s “cool!”

And I cannot agree anymore with last! Collect this what makes you happy! So simple and so important.

@minifighub is another account on my “must follow” list. Star Wars, MARVEL & Harry Potter themes postad daily with brilliant interactive collage-style pictures. I received his answers to my quick questionnaire:

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
My first lego set was a 2001 Arctic Set, but I truly became passionate about Lego in 2017 when I began this Instagram account.

I started the account when I had to drop out of school and do school online due to a sickness.

  1. Your favorite Minifigure?
My favorite Minifigure is 2008 Clone Wars Anakin, my first Star Wars lego figure. I also love all Rey figures and The Apocalypseburg Suicide Squad Harley Quinn.
  2. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
The best way to collect Minifigures is to buy them in the sets in stores or to use bricklink or the Instagram market place, finding Ebay deals are fine too but buying individual figures on Ebay is almost always overpriced. The easiest way is to ask your friends and family if they have any lego they don’t want and would like to either sell or give away.

I follow as well superb Instagramer @jb_bricks, huge Lego Star Wars fan and collector!

Here are his thoughts:

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
I grew up with duplo, and then eventually got some other random sets (Harry Potter, Exo-force, Spider-Man etc) when I was very young. Then in 2005 I got my first Star Wars sets, and it’s fast forwards 15 years and I’m where I’m at today!
  2. Your favorite Minifigure?
My favourite minifig is a really tough one. When I started this account it was the Phase 1 Clone Wars style Clone Trooper, however now I’m really liking the look of the Phase 2 Clone Troopers, especially Captain Rex and the Shock Trooper!
  3. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
My advice for a younger collector would be just to ask for sets for Christmases and Birthdays and at all & any available opportunities! For an adult I’d say set a Lego budget, and do not exceed it! With that budget get sets and then look at the Facebook marketplace as there can be some good deals on there, and if there are some specific minifigs you need, check out bricklink!

Finally – holy grail of LEGO Minifigures – my favourite LEGO Instagram account – @rarest_lego_minifigures – simply rarest, period! Run by someone who I know personally and who taught me most of what I know about Minifigures. There is no LEGO related question he cannot answer (even those below 😉 ).

  1. When and how your LEGO passion started?
My passion for LEGO started over 20 years ago. I started collecting rare minifigures more seriously over the last 10 years. My passion for LEGO Minifigures and the desire to collect the rarest items are what drives my hobby.
  2. Your favorite Minifigure?
My favorite minifigure is Jango Fett from 7153 because it’s what started me on this path.
  3. Any advice for people starting to collect Minifigures?
My advice to new collectors is to first learn about what type of rare minifigure they want to collect; there are many themes and it can be easy to get burned out if you do not have a focus. So research first using people richly engrained in the hobby, such as minifigs.blog, and buy second!

I am waiting for a couple more people to answer my questions – so stay tuned – I will keep you updated soon!

If you know other interesting Instagram accounts obsessed about LEGO® – let me know.
